afternoon in oakland. it was one the most successful gun buyback programs ever held in the city with hundreds of people dropping off their firearms. for each gun turned in, the owner received $200, no questions asked. the oakland police say that this was one of the most successful gun buyback programs ever held in the city. several hundreds of guns were turned in and many still moved by friday shooting in newtown, connecticut. >> the s f p d received a call around 3:00 a.m. this morning for reports of a home invasion robbery. this incident occurred on the 1600 block of slow boulevard. three suspects into the home and tied up the family robbing them of many belongings. the victims were not injured-that's it is unclear how many fell members live in the home and it is not clear their ages. the three suspects are being described as black male adults that were wearing masks. the s f p d is asking the public for help if they haven't any information that may be useful. >> >> it is 7:15 a.m.. let's talk about the weather. we do have wet weather outside. the rain is coming down. here is

for students at san jose city college less than 24 hours after a lockdown. s.w.a.t. teams swarmed the campus yesterday after a caller reported seeing a gunman. heavily armed police officers searched the campus room by room during the three-hour lockdown. the 911 call came in yesterday afternoon. the caller reported seeing a male possibly armed with a gun at the tech center building. students and faculty were slowly released from classrooms as officers searched the entire five-story building. for many on campus of course it was a disturbing ordeal. >> we definitely barricaded down, sat there hushed our voices got away from the windows made sure we weren't near where anybody can look in. and we were worried. we were afraid. >> well, when all was said and done police were unable to find any indication that a gunman was on campus. but officers did say that they did a thorough search for the sake of caution. >>> more people are coming forward talking about previous interactions with connecticut gunman adam lanza. workers at a newtown hair salon with lanza and his mother were regular customers say

slammed into a disabled car that was pulled over to the side of northbound 280 near redwood city. all lanes were re-opened just about a half hour ago. kron-4's philippe djegal is there. with more. there were two women and one man is dead. one man has moderate/major injuries and another man is in custody of suspicion of the vehicular mont manslaughter. and this is a mangled mess on the northbound 280. these two car crashed together from abc seven high- definition video. this began at 3:00 p.m. when the driver of this lexis. there were four people inside of this lexis sedan pulled into the center. >> it appeared that they were changing the tire. >> the c h p says that the 82 year-old driver of this old wagon was speeding when he collided with the alexis. he lived and three of the four victims' not living. it collided with the-lexus. >> to not stop in the center divide. if possible, exit the freeway, completely. a investigators collected evidence mapping out the crime scene at one. traffic was backed up nearly 10 mi.. in san mateo county, kron 4 news. >> the great mall in milpitas was cl

be careful on the roadways. snow showers and flurries could make it into the boston and new york city area but the i-95 corridor is not expecting any accumulation. enjoy the quiet weather because monday and tuesday forks christmas day, messy weather across portions of the northeast. first out west, this is where we have a storm picking the region right now with strong winds, the lower elevation rain and we're talking feet of snow across the sierra. good news for anyone wanting to do skiing but if you are doing traveling out on the roadways on interstate 5 or parents we're talking about delays possible not just for today but even as we head into tomorrow with yet again another area of low pressure. it will be producing more snow, more rain and more strong winds across the west. big issues along west coast but tomorrow, we'll start to see rain in the southeast spreading into tennessee and ohio valley. by monday, christmas eve the northeast dealing with more rain and some of you will be cold enough for snow, temperatures, 31 in cleveland and 32 in chicago and 27 in the city of minneapolis. he

francisco, daly city are all dealing with some light showers. half moon bay will be getting some rain fall about 40¢ an hour. this inches. as for east bay shore you are seeing light showers through oakland as well as alameda. moderate downpours are coming down in hayward. we're waiting to heavy rain from the golden gate bridge. there is also small hailed reported from the north bay. tracking at your weather for you on future cast 4 shows that moderate downpours will be coming until about 9:00 a.m.. we are still dealing with the wet weather in the south bay. >> we do have a another system that is approaching by the overnight hours. it will be pushing into the north bay. it will push up into intensity by 4:00 a.m.. tomorrow morning you will be waking up to heavy rain. moderate rain will be over your bay shore and will continue to be light to moderate downpours and i noontime tomorrow. by 3:00 p.m. tomorrow we will still be dealing with showers. by 6:00 p.m. tomorrow it will start to taper off. we will not be clear from a wets weather. we do have a dry start for the week. but on christmas da
